The Petzl Croll is designed to be used in conjunction with the Petzl ASCENSION for ascending a rope. A trigger cam with teeth and a cleaning slot work well even on dirty or icy ropes. An ergonomic spring-loaded catch has been designed for easy installation and removal of the dvice from the rope when the device is mounted on your chest. The Petzl Croll also features a spring-loaded catch that can be locked in to the open position so the rope clamp can be installed or removed from the rope with one hand. The attachment hole is positioned so the device lies flat against the chest when clipped in. For use with the Petzl SECUR should straps, which hold the rope clamp in an upright position
