The Petzl Pantin is designed to be used in conjunction with either a Petzl Croll or Petzl Ascension rope clamps. The Petzl Pantin makes ascending ropes faster and less tiring. The cam works in the same way as other Petzl ascenders. It has a trigger cam that has teeth and a cleaning slot that means it will work on dirty or even icy ropes. The straps are easy to adjust with a doubleback buckle. The under foot strap is reinforced with dyneema for extra abrasion resistance. Another excellent feature of the pantin is it can be removed from the rope with a simple backwards movement of the leg.
