The Petzl Tuba is a knot passing friction brake for lowering loads over long distances. The friction in the device can easily be varied for differnt loads by simply putting more or less turns on the device. The shape of this device has been designed so that knots can pass through it meaning that ropes can be joined togethor for very long lowers.
